June 19 - Ages 12 and under
June 20 - Ages 14 and under
June 21 - Ages 16 and under
Tuition - $500.00 per team - Online Registration unavailable.
This camp is only open to four teams per day so hurry and register before the fourth Annual Carolina Softball Team Camp is full!! Your team will be trained in a three-hour session by members of the Tar Heel Softball coaching staff and current players. Each team will receive instruction in the team defensive concepts and offensive strategies ie: hitting, bunting, slapping, and baserunning. Each player will receive video analysis and written evaluation of their hitting skills. After the team training sessions, round robin scrimmage games are held between the participating teams. Each team is guaranteed 1 professionally umpired game. Registration for team camp must be handled by mail only.
Tuition - $250.00 or $225.00 for commuters.
Pitchers: UNC Pitching Coach Beverly Smith and a staff of experienced pitching
coaches will teach, in depth, the specifics of throwing pitches. Come learn drills that
you can take home to develop or improve a rise, drop, curve, and screwball. Do you
want to learn a new change-up? Then this is the camp for you - an intense all
pitching camp. It is recommended that pitchers have a strong base and
understanding of pitching mechanics prior to attending.
Catchers: An experienced catching staff will head the Carolina Catching Specialty Camp. Catchers will receive advanced techniques for blocking, throwing, framing, calling pitches, and much more.
This camp is a two-day (four-session) camp. It will include special sessons featuring video analysis. The fee includes tuition, housing, full dining, professional medical attention, and a Nike Softball Camp t-shirt. CHECK-IN will occur from 12:30 PM -2:30 PM on Sunday, July 8 in Teague Dorm. Camp will end at 4:30 on Monday, July 9.
Girls in the 9-12th grade
Tuition - $420.00 or $380.00 for commuters
UNC Softball staff has developed a camp for players who desire a high level of instruction. Players will be divided into competitive teams for all sessions. Sessions will focus on team strategies as well as individual skill work beyond the basics. All sessions enable players to learn and practice skills that are needed for success at the next level. This camp is designed for grades 9-12. In order to enroll, it is recommended that you have either played one season on High School Varsity or will be eligible to play on the varsity team next year.The camp will include special sessions on strength training, academics and video analysis.
This camp is a four-day (eight-session) camp geared toward girls in the 9th - 12th grades. The fee includes tuition, housing, full dining, professional medical attention and a Nike Softball Camp t-shirt. CHECK-IN will be on Monday, July 9 from 2 PM - 4 PM in Teague Dorm. Camp will end at 12 noon on July 12th.
Girls ages 10-18
Tuition - $420.00 or $380.00 for commuters.
Coach Donna Papa of the UNC Tar Heels and a staff of experienced college and high school coaches will be on hand to instruct participants of all skill levels. Emphasis will be placed on the fundamentals of the game -- hitting, bunting, pitching, catching, infield and outfield play, base running, and game competition. A strength & conditioning training session is also offered. Included in the sessions are demonstrations, drills, practice sessions, and game competition. The 8:1 camper to staff ratio allows for more individualized instruction.
This camp is a four-day (nine-session) camp geared toward all skill levels and all positions for ages 10 - 18. Campers are divided by age and skill level to provide the appropriate learning environment. The fee includes tuition, housing, full dining, professional medical attention, and a Nike Softball Camp t-shirt. CHECK-IN will be on Monday, July 16 from 11 AM - 1 PM in Ehringhaus South Dorms. Camp will end at 12 Noon on Thursday, July 19.
Girls ages 5-9
Tuition - $120.00
This camp is designed for 5-9 year olds and will be conducted from Tuesday, July 17 to Thursday, July 19 from 9am-noon. Camp will cover basic softball skills for the young player including throwing, fielding, hitting, and base running. If you want to get your young player off to a good start, this is the camp for you!
Staff Coaches
Since the beginning of our camps, the single most important factor has been hiring outstanding coaches. The goal of Carolina Softball Camps is to provide each camper with the opportunity to improve her current skill level. In addition to the Tar Heel coaching staff and players, the camp staff will consist of collegiate players, outstanding NCAA, NAIA, junior college coaches, former LPFA players, and well respected high school coaches from the Carolina region and throughout the country. The camper to counselor ratio will be 8 to 1, allowing each camper to receive individual attention as well as small group instruction.
Camp Features
Carolina Softball Camps allow the athlete to experience the university setting in beautiful Chapel Hill. Chapel Hill has been blessed as a powerhouse in research and education, as well as in athletics. The goal of Carolina Softball Camps is to provide each camper with the opportunity to improve her current skill level. This is done in a positive learning environment, which includes exposure to the University community.

Note: Those attending the Pitching and Catching and Advanced camps will stay in Teague Dormitory. All-Skills camp attendees will stay in South Ehringhaus Dormitory.
