The 116 points are the most by the Tar Heels in Roy Williams' six years as head coach.
The 68-point margin of victory equals the third-largest in any game in UNC history and ties the largest in Smith Center history (with a 18-50 win over The Citadel on Feb. 18, 1991).

Tonight was the 300th home game for Roy Williams as a head coach at Kansas and North Carolina. His teams are 274-26 in those 300 games, a win percentage of .913.
Carolina has shot 50 percent or better from the floor in each of the last nine halves (second half at UC Santa Barbara and both halves vs. Chaminade, Oregon, Notre Dame and UNC Asheville).

Ty Lawson scored 22 points and had eight assists, one turnover and a career-high tying five steals. This is Lawson's eighth career 20-point game, and the first time he has scored 20 or more points in the Smith Center.
Lawson has 47 assists and nine turnovers for the season. His only miscue this evening was when he let a pass slip through his hands out of bounds.
Danny Green set a personal best with six three-pointers. He hit all six in the second half. Two games ago, he hit a career-high five threes, all in the first half, in the win in Maui over Oregon. Prior to the Oregon game, his career best was four three-pointers four different times. Green has made 13 of his last 21 three-point attempts over the last four games.
Green's six threes are the most by a Tar Heel since Wes Miller hit six at Florida State on Jan. 22, 2006.
Ed Davis posted his third double-double in his first seven games with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Davis also had a season-high four blocked shots.
Wayne Ellington tied his career high with six assists.
Carolina had 30 assists, the most since UNC had 31 vs. North Carolina A&T on Feb. 18, 2003. The 30 assists are the most by UNC under head coach Roy Williams.
Carolina has led by an average of 24 points at the half in the last four games (23 over Chaminade, 29 over Oregon, 10 over Notre Dame and 34 over UNC Asheville).
Carolina has won the last four games by an average of 39.3 points (45 over Chaminade, 29 over Oregon, 15 over Notre Dame and 68 over UNC Asheville).
The Tar Heels held UNC Asheville to 26.5 percent shooting from the floor, the lowest figure by a UNC opponent in the first seven games this season. It was the lowest by an opponent since Virginia Tech shot 25.9 percent on Feb. 16, 2008.
Deon Thompson had 17 points and scored in double figures for the seventh time in as many games. He was 7 for 12 from the floor - his 12th consecutive games shooting 50 percent or better from the floor.
The Tar Heels forced 25 turnovers, the fourth time this year the opponents have committed 20 or more turnovers (28 by Kentucky, 25 by UNC Asheville, 24 by Chaminade and 21 by UCSB).
