No. 2 Tar Heels Close Out Road Schedule At Miami

CORAL GABLES, Fla. --- North Carolina (24-2, 11-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) goes back on the road for the final time this season when the Tar Heels visit Miami Thursday night at 7 in Coral Gables, Fla. Carolina is coming off a 97-77 win over Florida State on Sunday. Miami enters the contest with a record of 9-16 (2-8 ACC) after a 51-45 loss at NC State on Feb. 14. UNC is ranked No. 2 in both the AP poll and the ESPN/USA Today coaches' poll this week, its highest ranking of the season. Miami is unranked.

MIAMI SERIES NOTES
North Carolina is 7-2 all-time against Miami, including a 2-1 mark in the Miami/Coral Gables area.
Carolina won the only matchup in 2007, a 93-70 decision in Chapel Hill.
The Tar Heels have won four straight in the series, with each game coming since Miami joined the ACC. Miami's last win in the series was an 86-72 NCAA Tournament victory in 1992.
NOTING THE HURRICANES
Miami is 9-16 on the season (2-8 in the ACC) after a 51-45 loss at NC State on Feb. 14.
The Hurricanes are led in scoring and rebounding by senior guard Maurita Reid (15.9 ppg, 5.6 rpg), who also leads the ACC in steals with 3.9 per game.
STREAKS
Carolina has won 15 of its last 16 and seven in a row. The Tar Heels have also opened the season with 11 straight conference wins, their best start since the ACC adopted a 14-game schedule.
Miami has lost seven of its last eight and for of its last five in Coral Gables.
