JV Team Gets National Attention

Wednesday night, North Carolina played basketball in front of 21,750 people who squeezed into the Smith Center and screamed themselves hoarse. Thursday night, North Carolina will play basketball in front of maybe 100 fans and without the benefit of national television--or any television.
That's because the JV team will go on the road Thursday to play Louisburg. In most cases, the JV team toils in obscurity, serving mainly as the training ground for future head coaches like Roy Williams or future biscuit-providers like Dewey Burke. This week, however, the JV team got some national publicity in an insightful ESPN.com story. If you're looking for people who feel the same way you do about what an honor it would be to wear a Carolina jersey, the story is a must-read.
