No. 3 North Carolina prevailed in a rare afternoon Tuesday road game, beating Providence 8-6 in men's lacrosse on the Friars' home field. The win improves Carolina to 5-0 on the season, one win short of its 6-0 start in 2002. Carolina was coming off back-to-back wins over Top 5 teams Cornell and Notre Dame with No. 1-ranked and undefeated Duke looming Saturday in Durham at 3 p.m. Carolina has now held all five of its opponents to eight goals or less this season.
