Golden Fleece Tabs Hansbrough

Tyler Hansbrough has been racking up basketball-related awards lately, having recently picked up the Rupp Award, the ACC Player of the Year award, and the Sporting News Player of the Year award. As a result of that haul--and the more that could follow--Hansbrough's jersey will hang from the front row in the Smith Center. This week, however, he received a campus-wide honor that is similarly unique.
Although Hansbrough wasn't in town to attend the induction, he was inducted into the Order of the Golden Fleece on Wednesday. The group, which has less than 2,000 members campus-wide in the past 100 years, had until recently been a secret society. But three years ago they decided to make their mission public.
Rachel Dawson, the 2007 National Player of the Year for field hockey, also was inducted. Dawson graduated with distinction in December and is now training with the U.S. National Team.
