Hoops Seniors Pose For Posters

elieve it or not, the beginning of basketball practice for the 2008-09 season is less than a month away. Tar Heel players have been going through conditioning work with Jonas Sahratian, and today the Carolina seniors took care of another preseason obligation: posing for a couple of key photographs.
The first shot will be used for the squad's themed team poster. Bob Donnan, Chuck Underwood, Michael Beale, and a well-placed trampoline were the key people involved in making the shoot happen. This particular photo marked the debut of the team's 08-09 jerseys. This year's look is similar to last year with two noticeable exceptions: the fit is not as tight, and more of a v-neck look has returned. If you're a fan of the v-neck, you have good company, because head coach Roy Williams was instrumental in making sure Nike understood that the v-neck belongs on a Carolina Basketball jersey.
The second photo was a more formal shot that will be used on the media guide cover. Mirroring some of the "Carolina Gentlemen" shots of the past, all five seniors sported coats and ties.
Keep an eye out for the team poster at Late Night with Roy Williams on Oct. 24. The media guide should be released in that same general timeframe.
