No. 10 Tar Heels Set To Face NC State Monday

RALEIGH, N.C. --- North Carolina (23-4, 8-3 ACC) makes the short drive down Interstate 40 to face NC State Monday night at 7 at Reynolds Coliseum. UNC is coming off a 92-68 win at Boston College on Feb. 19. NC State has won three straight including a 65-63 overtime victory at Wake Forest on Feb. 17. Carolina is ranked No. 10 in both the AP poll and the coaches' poll. NC State is unranked.

NC STATE SERIES NOTES
• North Carolina is 38-49 all-time against NC State, including a 10-26 mark in Raleigh.
• Carolina won the first meeting in 2009, topping the Wolfpack in Chapel Hill, 75-66, in overtime. The win was Sylvia Hatchell's 800th career victory.
• While NC State still holds a sizable advantage in the all-time series, Carolina has held the upper hand in
recent years. The Tar Heels have won 16 of the last 18 meetings, their most successful stretch ever against the Wolfpack.
• NC State is Carolina's most common opponent in terms of games played as well as the Tar Heels' oldest
rival. Monday will be the 88th all-time meeting dating back to UNC's very first varsity game, a 74-47 loss to
the Wolfpack on Jan. 13, 1975.
• Of teams with at least 10 all-time meetings with UNC, only NC State (49-38), Old Dominion (12- 7) and
Tennessee (14-3) have winning records.
NOTING THE WOLFPACK
• NC State is 12-14 on the season (4-7 in the ACC) following a 65-63 overtime win at Wake Forest on Feb. 17.
• Senior guard Shayla Fields leads the Wolfpack in scoring with 17.8 points per contest.
• Junior forward Lucy Ellison is NC State's top rebounder with 6.8 boards per outing.
STREAKS
• Carolina has won six of seven since dropping three straight from Jan. 19-25.
• Thursday's win at Boston College snapped a three-game road losing streak, UNC's longest such streak in conference play since February 2001.
• NC State has won three straight and four of six since dropping all six of its games in January.
