Tar Heels Visit Governor Wednesday

The Tar Heels will meet with one of their biggest fans on Wednesday. But it's not just any fan--it also happens to be the governor of the state of North Carolina, Bev Perdue. The 2009 national champions will travel to Raleigh, where they are fairly certain to receive a more pleasant reception than on most trips to that city, to meet with the governor and the North Carolina General Assembly.
Governor Perdue is a well-known Tar Heel fan, and has even appeared on the Tar Heel Sports Network this season. She also isn't afraid to make the occasional friendly wager based on her love of the team. She recently won a bet with Michigan governor Jennifer Granholm based on the outcome of the 2009 national title game. Although, considering Gov. Granholm received a fresh delivery of Carolina blue Krispy Kreme doughnuts, it's hard to tell exactly who won the bet.
The General Assembly recently adopted a joint resolution honoring Carolina's 2009 season.
