Hansbrough, Lawson Among First 18 Picks

Former Tar Heels Tyler Hansbrough and Ty Lawson both were selected in the first 18 picks of Thursday night's NBA Draft in New York City. Hansbrough went 13th to the Indiana Pacers and Lawson went 18th to Minnesota. ESPN reported shortly after Lawson was drafted that the point guard would be traded to Denver, which is coached by former Tar Heel George Karl.
Former Carolina All-America Vince Carter was traded by New Jersey to Orlando earlier on Thursday. Carter is a native of Daytona Beach, Fla., who lives in Orlando in the offseason.
