Marvin Williams Earns Community Honor

When Marvin Williams was being recruited by North Carolina, Roy Williams said one of the first things he noticed about the prep star--after noticing he was an extremely talented basketball player--was his ability to be a good teammate. That's carried over into Marvin's professional life, and now he's being honored for it on a much broader scale, as his hometown of Bremerton, Wash. will soon be named for him. The honor comes because of Marvin's extensive support of a church in the area.
Despite playing just one year at Carolina, Williams is also making progress towards his UNC degree. He is a junior academically and plans to return to Chapel Hill to take more classes this summer.
