CHARLOTTE - Charlotte native and Cleveland Cavaliers forward Antawn Jamison will be hosting his fifth annual All-Star basketball camp on July 20-22 at Carolina Courts in Indian Trail, North Carolina.
Each day of camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes basketball skills training with Jamison and other NBA and college basketball player guests. The camp also includes fitness and nutrition instruction from Rhymer Fitness and shooting instruction from world-renown shooting coach Dave Hopla.
Approximately 80 percent of the boys, age 8-18, who will be attending have been given scholarships provided by Bojangles' and Kool-Aid to cover the cost of the camp. Most of the scholarship campers come through local Charlotte youth programs: Right Moves for Youth, A Better World and the Simmons YMCA.
Last year Jamison built a playground with the national non-profit KaBOOM! at the Simmons YMCA in Charlotte after camp concluded. There were over 150 local community members who assisted in the building of the playground, including many boys who had participated in Jamison's camp.
