NBA Update, Sunday, January 30, 2011:
Vince Carter, Phoenix Suns- The starting shooting Guard averaged 12.4 points and five rebounds in his last five games. The Suns have lost three of their last five.
Ed Davis, Toronto Raptors- The backup power-forward has seen quality minutes as of late, averaging 23.2 in his last five games. He is also averaging 6.6 points and 7.2 rebounds in those five games.
Wayne Ellington, Minnesota Timberwolves- The backup shooting guard saw playing time in two of the four games this past week.
Raymond Felton, New York Knicks- The New York Knicks snapped their six game losing streak on Monday, January 24 by defeating the Washington Wizards. The starting point guard had 17 points, 15 assists, and four steals.
Tyler Hansbrough, Indiana Pacers- The power forward did not play Saturday night because he was diagnosed with pneumonia. In the four games leading up to his sickness, 14.3 points and 6.3 rebounds.
Brendan Haywood- The seven-footer has been a formidable backup to Tyson Chandler, seeing quality playing time. In three games this past week, he averaged 17 minutes, four points, and 3.7 rebounds. The Dallas Mavericks will play in a nationally televised game on Friday, February 4 at 8:00 p.m. on ESPN against the Boston Celtics
Antawn Jamison- Although the Cleveland Cavaliers have lost 19 games in a row, the starting Power forward has taken on the role as the leader of the team. In the three games this week, he averaged 19 points and nine rebounds.
Ty Lawson, Denver Nuggets- The Denver Nuggets are on a four game winning streak. In those four games, the backup point guard is averaged 12.3 points and four assists. The Denver Nuggets will play in a nationally televised game on Friday, February 4 at 10:30 p.m. on ESPN against the Utah Jazz.
Marvin Williams, Atlanta Hawks- After missing 11 games due to injury, the Small forward was inserted back into the lineup on Wednesday, January, 26. He finished with seven points and five rebounds. He will also serve a two game suspension because of an altercation with New York Knicks' Shawne Williams on Friday.
Brandan Wright, Golden State Warriors- The Power forward did not see any playing time this past week. The Golden State Warriors will play in a nationally televised game on Sunday, January 30 at 10:00 p.m. on ESPN against the Utah Jazz.
