Carolina Golfers Tied For Fourth Place At Landfall

Second Round Results| Final Round Pairings
The University of North Carolina women's golf team shot a 313 in the second round of The Landfall Tradition and is tied for fourth place going into Sunday's final round at the Country Club of Landfall's Nicklaus Course. Casey Grice led the Tar Heels on Saturday by firing a 3-over-par 75.
Grice, a sophomore from College Station, Texas, has a 6-over 150 total and is tied for fourth place after firing a pair of 75s in the first two rounds. Sophomore Katherine Perry, from Cary, N.C., is tied for 23rd place after carding a 79 in the second round for a 155 total. Courtney Gunter, a junior from Matthews, N.C., is tied for 43rd with a 158 total after shooting an 81 on Saturday. Sophomore Jackie Chang, from Paradise Valley, Ariz., carded a 78 for a 160 total and is tied for 57th while senior Allie White is tied for 67 with a 162 total after shooting an 84 in the second round.
Purdue leads field of 18 teams with a 607 total after firing a 303 in the second round. Auburn is two strokes back in second place at 609 while Duke is third at 617 and Carolina and Ohio State are tied for fourth with 619 totals. Notre Dame and Michigan State are tied for sixth place with 620 totals while Iowa State and South Carolina are tied for eighth at 621 and NC State and Florida State are tied for 10th at 624.
Vicoria Trapani of Auburn jumped into the individual lead by firing a 1-over-par 73 in the second round for a 1-over 145 total. Paula Reto of Purdie is three strokes back in second place with a 148 total after shooting a 77 another Boilermaker, Laura Gonzalez, is in third place at 149 after firing a 1-over 73. Four players are tied for fourth place at 6-over 150 - Carolina's Grice, Iowa State's Sasikam On-lam, Michigan State's Caroline Powers and NC State's Vivian Tsui. Alejandra Cangrejo of Duke is alone in eighth place at 151 while four players are tied for ninth at 152 - Duke's Laetitia Beck, South Carolina's Katie Burnett, UNC Wilmington's Sofia Hagsund and Auburn's Patricia Sanz.
The final round of the 54-hole will be played Sunday at the Country Club of Landfall's Nicklaus Course which features a par 72, 6,208-yard layout. There will be an 8:45 shotgun start Sunday morning. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.com.
