CHAPEL HILL --- North Carolina continues its season-opening five-game homestand Wednesday when the Tar Heels host UNC Greensboro at 7 p.m. at Carmichael Arena. UNC is coming off a pair of one-sided victories to start the 2011-12 campaign - a 109-44 victory over Gardner-Webb on Saturday and a 91-34 rout of USC Upstate on Sunday. UNC Greensboro is 0-1 on the season after dropping its opener to Liberty on Friday, 61-46. UNC is ranked No. 19 in the AP poll and No. 17 in the coaches' poll. UNC Greensboro is unranked.

UNCG SERIES NOTES
• North Carolina is 9-0 all-time against UNC Greensboro.
• UNC and UNCG met eight times over the course of five seasons between 1975 and 1979, but have met just one time since, a 103-48 Tar Heel victory on Nov. 30, 2006.
NOTING THE SPARTANS
• UNC Greensboro is 0-1 on the season following a 61-46 home loss to Liberty on Friday.
• The Spartans are led by first-year head coach Wendy Palmer. Palmer joined the program in April after spending two seasons as an assistant at Virginia.
TAR HEELS IN CARMICHAEL ARENA
• Carolina is 398-89 all-time in Carmichael, including a 25-6 record since the building re-opened after being closed for renovations from March 2008 to December 2009.
• The Tar Heels have won at least 14 home games in each of the last 10 seasons, including a school-record 18 during an undefeated 2007-08 home campaign.
• UNC has lost just 15 home games since the start of the 2001-02 season. The Tar Heels have been even more stingy against non-conference opponents, losing at home just twice outside of league play in the last decade.
