Continuing its debut week, TarHeelBlue.com Halftime Live will be on the air live tonight at halftime of the Carolina-Texas game. The first of its kind production in college basketball, developed in conjunction with and produced by UNC New Media, is hosted by Adam Lucas and features 1998 Tar Heel graduate Shammond Williams, the school's all-time record holder in several three-point and free throw categories.
The goal of the free video halftime show is simple: to provide complete stats and analysis for the Carolina fan who wants to review the first half, get insight on what to watch for in the second half, and hear more in-depth discussion of the Tar Heels. Fans can interact with the broadcast by sending tweets to Tar Heel Monthly, with Williams answering as many fan questions as possible during the 15-minute halftime period. Fans who watched Monday's premiere airing at halftime of the Nicholls game heard Williams's take on the progress of freshman James Michael McAdoo, Carolina's struggles at the free throw line, a first-hand comparison of Kendall Marshall and Ed Cota, a player perspective on what could be gained from a game with such a wide halftime margin, and much more--plus complete stats as soon as the official halftime box score was released.
The show, which is designed to be a companion to your TV and radio game experience, goes on the air almost immediately as soon as halftime begins, and goes off the air just before the second half starts.
