No. 12 Tar Heels Travel To Raleigh Monday

RALEIGH, N.C. --- North Carolina begins the final week of the regular season Monday when the Tar Heels make the short drive to Raleigh to face NC State at 7 p.m. at Reynolds Coliseum. Carolina is 22-4 on the year (8-3 in the ACC) after a 78-66 loss to Miami on Feb. 13. NC State is 11-15 (2-9 ACC) following an 81-65 win at Virginia Tech on Thursday. UNC is ranked No. 12 in the AP poll and No. 13 in the coaches' poll. NC State is unranked.

NC STATE SERIES NOTES
• North Carolina is 41-50 all-time against NC State, including a 12-26 mark in Raleigh.
• Carolina won the first meeting of the season in Chapel Hill, 83-76.
• While NC State still holds an advantage in the all-time series, Carolina has held the upper hand in recent years. The Tar Heels have won 19 of the last 22 meetings, their most successful stretch against the Wolfpack.
• NC State is Carolina's most common opponent in terms of games played as well as the Tar Heels' oldest
rival. Monday will be the 92nd all-time meeting dating back to UNC's very first varsity game, a 74-47 win over the Wolfpack on Jan. 13, 1975. No ACC rivalry has been played more often.
• Of teams with at least 10 all-time meetings with UNC, only NC State (50-41), Old Dominion (12-7) and
Tennessee (14-3) have winning records.
NOTING THE WOLFPACK
• NC State is 11-15 (2-9 ACC) following an 81-65 win at Virginia Tech on Thursday.
• Junior forward Bonae Holston leads the Wolfpack in scoring and rebounding with 15.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per contest.
• Sophomore guard Marissa Kastanek is second on the team with 14.2 points per contest. The Lincoln, Neb., product had a career-high 30 points in the January meeting in Chapel Hill.

CHAPEL HILL (AP) --- Riquna Williams scored 25 points to help No. 20 Miami beat No. 13 North Carolina 78-66 on Feb. 13. Morgan Stroman added 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Hurricanes (22-3, 8-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), who broke open a tie game with a 10-0 run early in the second half. Laura Broomfield had 18 points and a season-high 15 rebounds for the Tar Heels (22-4, 8-3), whose five-game winning streak ended. Chay Shegog added 14 points for North Carolina.
NOTING TWENTY-WIN SEASONS
• With the win at Florida State on Feb. 2, UNC reached the 20-win mark for the 22nd time in program history.
• Carolina has won 20 games under Sylvia Hatchell 17 times in 25 seasons and nine times in the last 10 campaigns.
• Hatchell has coached her teams to at least 20 wins on 27 occasions in 36 seasons, good for fourth-most nationally. Only Pat Summitt, Vivian Stringer and Jody Conradt have coached more 20-win seasons.
• In addition to her 17 20-win seasons in Chapel Hill, Hatchell won 20 or more 10 times in 11 seasons at Francis Marion.
