Elizabeth Durkac Named EAGL Specialist of the Week

Sophomore Elizabeth Durkac named the East Atlantic Gymnastic League (EAGL) Specialist for the week of February 16-22.
Durkac performed her best meet as a Tar Heel and helped the the Tar Heels earn a home victory in last Sunday's meet against Pitt. She set or matched career highs on bars, beam and floor. Durkac tied with teammate Zoya Johnson for first on bars, posting a 9.825. She continued her career day on beam, where she hit every element in her set and scored a 9.85 for a first-place finish. Durkac closed her day on floor and finished sixth overall with a personal-best 9.775.
Next up for Elizabeth Durkac and the Carolina gymnastics team is a visit to West Virginia on Saturday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m.
