The Carolina gymnastics team will face off with No. 24 West Virginia on Saturday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. The Tar Heels travel to Morgantown, W.V. after a three-game home stint that culminated in a commanding victory against Pittsburgh.
“We are looking forward to competing at West Virginia on Saturday,” said Head Coach Derek Galvin. “It's the second week we've faced an EAGL opponent. They always field a competitive team, as do we. It's going to be a great competition between two evenly matched teams.”
In their last meet, UNC scored a 195.650, the highest of the season. Carolina hopes to build on that success against a tough West Virginia team. The Mountaineers have an 8-5 record and are 5-1 in the EAGL conference.
“The team had a good week of training, we are expecting a very close competition,” said Galvin.
“We are going to go in there and focus on our team and perform our routines at the highest level as we can and are looking forward to a strong outcome.”
