UCF SERIES NOTES

Carolina features a balanced attack with a .293 team batting average, 2.56 staff ERA and a .965 fielding percentage. Carolina has won four of their last seven times on the diamond. In those three losses, all have been decided by just one run and two have come in the eighth inning.
Carolina's pitching staff is headlined by freshman Lori Spingola. The Atlanta, Ga., native anchors the staff with a 1.64 ERA, 98 strikeouts and a 10-6 record. Classmate Sara Buchholz chips in a 3.92 ERA and 3-2 record in the circle.
Kelli Wheeler paces the UNC attack with a .406 batting average and five home runs. Wheeler finished last week with an above .400 batting average, three home runs, five RBI and 20 total bases. The junior belted a three-run walk off home run in UNC's 6-5 win over Long Island Saturday. Sophomore Haleigh Dickey and junior Ally Blake both register above .370 batting averages.
