Tar Heels Host UNC Greensboro Wednesday

CHAPEL HILL --- After four straight games on the road, North Carolina returns home Wednesday to host UNC Greensboro for a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m. from Anderson Stadium. The midweek tilts will precede an ACC Showdown at Georgia Tech this weekend.

UNC GREENSBORO SERIES NOTES
• Carolina holds the advantage over UNC Greensboro in the all-time series dating to 1977.
• The Tar Heels shutout the Spartans 8-0 and topped UNC Greensboro 5-1 a year ago. Carolina also claimed a pair of wins this fall in exhibition action.
• The Tar Heels have not dropped a game against UNC Greensboro since 2002.

• Riding a two-game win streak after claiming their fourth straight ACC series, North Carolina returns home to host UNC Greensboro for a twinbill in midweek action.
• The Tar Heels own a .283 team batting average, 2.49 staff ERA and .959 fielding percentage.
• In the circle, the freshmen duo of Lori Spingola and Sara Buchholz have combined for a 1.97 ERA and 29 strikeouts to 10 walks over the last six games.
• Kelli Wheeler paces Carolina at the plate with a .408 batting average, 10 home runs, 26 RBI and nine stolen bases. Haleigh Dickey leads UNC with 33 RBI while Ally Blake adds a .333 average and eight home runs.
• Over the last five games, Elisha Elliott owns a .417 batting average to lead all Tar Heels.

• UNC Greensboro is 17-21 after suffering a series sweep from Southern Conference leader UT Chattanooga.
• The Spartans sport a .287 team batting average, 5.04 staff ERA and .950 fielding percentage.
• Jordan Jewett paces the Spartan offense with a .364 batting average and .457 on-base percentage. In the circle, Cory Mattson has tossed the bulk of the innings with a 4.37 ERA and a 8-10 mark.
