Tar Heels in the NBA Playoffs
Brendan Haywood, Dallas Mavericks - The Dallas Mavericks won the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat four games to two with a win in game six on Sunday night. The backup center did not play in games three, five, and six, and only played three minutes in game four due to a hip injury.
Haywood becomes the 14th different UNC basketball alum to win the NBA title as a player and gives UNC basketball alums a total of 42 NBA championships.
No other Atlantic Coast Conference team has more than four former players who have earned NBA titles as players.
