Rolle Leads Heels Past La Salle, 85-55

Xylina McDaniel opened the second half with a jumper for the Tar Heels (5-0), who trailed 32-31 at halftime, then added another bucket after a steal by Brittany Rountree. Krista Gross added a jumper and Rountree sank a 3-pointer for a 40-32 lead.
Rolle made a free throw and Tierra Ruffin-Pratt made two, then Danielle Butts, Gross and Rolle hit jumpers to put North Carolina ahead 51-36. The Explorers (1-4) never got closer than 12 points after that.
It was different in the first half, when La Salle built a 23-10 lead before the Tar Heels rallied.
Shanel Harrison had 14 of her 18 points in the first half to lead the Explorers.
The Tar Heels held La Salle to just 23 percent shooting after halftime and limited Atlantic-10 leading scorer Brittany Wilson to just 14 points on 4-of-17 from the field.
Hillary Fuller added 13 points and six boards in just 10 minutes for Carolina, while Ruffin-Pratt (12) and McDaniel (11) also went for double figures.
The Tar Heels will host UNC Asheville Sunday afternoon at 2.
