Tar Heel Men Compete at Duke Dual Meet

The University of North Carolina men finished the Duke Dual Meets 1-4 through five rounds of fencing Saturday in Durham, N.C.
The men fell 9-18 to No. 1 Penn State in their first and toughest meet of the day. The Tar Heels then matched up against Brandeis, losing a close match 13-14 with the sabers noting a 5-4 victory. UNC dropped the next two matches, 12-15 to No. 8 Duke and 12-15 to Johns Hopkins. Carolina bounced back in their last competition of the day, notching a 14-13 win over Air Force.
The UNC women will compete in the Duke Dual Meets Sunday, Feb. 12, starting at 8 a.m. against Penn State.
