New Carolina Football Equipment Truck

Chapel Hill, N.C. – Decorated with Carolina football images from bumper to bumper, a new 53-foot equipment hauler will make its debut this weekend when the Tar Heels travel to Wake Forest on Sept. 8.
It will be hard to miss.
The attractive tractor-trailer is twice the size of the team's previous equipment truck and is adorned with reflective lights and graphics that make it easy to see day or night.
Old Dominion Freight Line in Thomasville provided the tractor-trailer as part of a sponsorship package and Admark Graphics in Charlotte supplied the images. Each side of the truck has an image of Kenan Stadium and various action shots featuring T.J. Yates, Matt Merletti and Bruce Carter.
But the truck is much more than a traveling billboard. It's a necessity for the UNC football equipment staff.
"It's a traveling equipment room,” says assistant equipment manager Jason Freeman. “Anything we have in our equipment room, we also have on that truck, including gear for all types of weather and back-ups of everything.”
The truck hauls the normal selection of helmets, shoulder pads, cleats and uniforms, but it also carries Carolina's video equipment and sports medicine needs.
“We take everything on the road that the team might need,” says Freeman. “It looks great and it is something Tar Heel fans can be proud of.
