Tar Heels Hold First Fall Scrimmage

Chapel Hill, N.C. - The North Carolina Tar Heels held their first scrimmage of the Fall on Wednesday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. The visiting Navy squad took a 3-0 win over the Blue team in a scrimmage dominated by pitching.
The Navy squad outhit the Blue squad by a 5-3 margin. The six pitchers who threw were Chris O'Brien, Taylore Cherry, Reilly Hovis, Trent Thornton, Trevor Kelley and Mason McCullough. Landon Lassiter was the leading hitter with two singles.
Carolina's next closed scrimmage will be on Friday afternoon. GoHeels will have exclusive coverage of all of Carolina's Fall scrimmages, which will be capped off by the always-fun Fall World Series.
