CHAPEL HILL - To celebrate the last day of final exams, the Carolina women's basketball team chose to deliver gifts to a family they adopted as part of the Share Your Christmas Program on Friday.

The program matches a local family with an organization interested in donating new gifts to Durham residents in need of a little Christmas cheer.

The team selected a family of four and was excited to personally deliver the gifts that were purchased last week.

"I think I speak for the entire team in saying this has been really fun in making a difference this Christmas for a local family," said sophomore guard Megan Buckland. "We were able to purchase almost everything on their wish list so I know this is going to be a rewarding experience for everyone involved."

The Tar Heels spent a portion of their Thursday wrapping gifts for the family in preparing to deliver them on Friday after they finished up practice in the afternoon.

Carolina will host Charleston Southern on Saturday at 1 p.m.
