Military Appreciation Day Vs. Texas

CHAPEL HILL -- The men's basketball game between Carolina and Texas on Wednesday night has been designated as Military Appreciation Day in the Smith Center.
Military elements throughout the game will include:
• A giant American flag on the court for the national anthem
• A joint color guard representing all four branches of the University of North Carolina ROTC program
• To celebrate Military Appreciation Day we invite everyone in the Smith Center to sing the National Anthem a cappella (no band playing)
• Video/photo tributes to military personnel throughout the game
• On-court recognition of Brigadier General John Hort, UNC class of 1983
