Join The Be The Match Registry At UNC Student Union
December 2, 2013 | Women's Basketball
Please come by the Student Union West Lounge on South Road this Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., to join the Be The Match Registry.
The Marrow Donor Registry Drive is focused on people between the ages of 18 to 44.
Fill out a registration form and have the inside of your cheek swabbed to have your tissue type tested. It's that easy!
Marrow donors in our community are urgently needed to save the lives of patients with diseases like leukemia, lymphoma or sickle cell anemia. Patients are most likely to match someone who shares their ethnic background.
In October 2013, UNC women's basketball head coach Sylvia Hatchell was diagnosed with Leukemia. She is encouraging everyone to sign up this week on campus and join the registry.
"Tar Heels taking care of Tar Heels, it just doesn't get any better than that. Be The Match!"
The event is presented by the Carolina women's basketball team in collaboration with the Carolina Union and the General Alumni Association.
