Spingola Fans 14 In 4-2 Win Over Pitt

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - No. 23 Carolina closed out play at the Aggie Classic Sunday with a 4-2 win over Pittsburgh.
The Tar Heels improved to 7-5 behind a strong outing from Lori Spingola, who tied her career high with 14 strikeouts in six innings.
Kristen Brown singled to second to start things off in the second, Constance Orr homered to left field in the second inning, driving in Kristen Brown who singled to center to make it 2-0
In the third, Tisha Mahon singled, stole second and then advanced to third on a groundout before scoring on a single by Erin Satterfield. Haleigh Dickey then doubled to right center to drive in Satterfield for the 4-0 lead.
Pittsburgh's Carly Thea doubled in the sixth and scored on a double to left center by Tori Nirschl. Nirschl advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Jordan Fannin and then came home on a single by Maggie Sevilla to make it 4-2.
Lori Spingola and Haleigh Dickey were named to the Aggie Classic All Tournament team for their efforts in this weekend's games.

The Tar Heels will host the annual Carolina Classic next weekend, Feb. 22-24. UNC will welcome George Washington, Iona, Iowa State, North Dakota State and Penn State for a weekend of 12 games at Anderson Stadium.
