Tar Heel Spotlight: Lauren Walker

GoHeels.com is highlighting each Carolina softball player throughout the 2013 season. Today's Tar Heel spotlight is with sophomore Lauren Walker, an infielder and clutch utility player from York, Pa.
GoHeels.com: What is your best memory of your softball career so far?
Lauren Walker: My best memory so far is when we were on the bus at Boston College and found out that we won the ACC Regular Season last year. It was extremely exciting and rewarding!
GH: How did you get started playing softball?
LW: My dad played baseball at Penn State, so he definitely had a big influence on my career, but I got started playing softball when I was 8 years old and began playing for Little League.
LW: Because of the family atmosphere and its outstanding reputation both in sports and academics.
GH: What is your favorite class this semester?
LW: My favorite class this semester is BUSI 407, Financial Accounting, because it is really interesting and challenging.
GH: What is your dream profession?
LW: Working for Nike
GH: What is your favorite pre-game snack?
LW: My favorite pre-game snack is greek yogurt, fruit and granola.
GH: What is your walk-up song?
LW: "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor
GH: If you played another sport, what would it be?
LW: If I played another sport, it would be field hockey because I played it some in high school and it is really fun to play. Plus field hockey players are super fit!
