April 24, 2013 | Softball
GoHeels.com is highlighting each Carolina softball player this season, and today's Carolina softball Tar Heel Spotlight is with Tisha Mahon, a senior outfielder and stellar base runner from Lexington, N.C.
GoHeels.com: What is your best memory of playing softball so far?
Tisha Mahon: My best memory was spring break my freshman year. We went out to California and had a great week of wins. I also go to meet my great aunt for the first time, and we beat Florida State in our series off of Kelli Wheller's homerun.
GH: How did you get started playing softball?
TM: I started at five years old. I played tee ball and moved my way up. For a few years I was the only girls on the team.
GH: Why Carolina?
TM: It just felt like home to me.
GH: What is your favorite class this semester?
TM: My favorite class would have to be my INLS 285 with Dr. Bernquist. He's a wonderful teacher and uses his war stories as examples all the time, which keeps me interested.
GH: What is your favorite pre-game snack?
TM: My favorite pre game snack would have to be "cuties" and bananas with peanut butter!
GH: What is your dream profession?
TM: Professional sports marketing
GH: What is your walk-up song?
TM: "WOP" by J. Dash
GH: If you could play another sport, what would it be?
TM: Football. I've always wanted to tackle someone and not get in trouble for it.
