October 14, 2014 | Baseball
Chapel Hill, N.C. -- Navy exploded for six runs in the second inning and cruised to a 7-0 win over Blue behind Benton Moss' strong performance on Monday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. Moss gave up no runs on five hits while striking out eight and walking none in his seven-inning gem.
Elijah Sutherland drove in the game's first two runs with a single in the second while Zack Gahagan added an RBI single later in the inning. Brian Miller and Adrian Chacon led Navy with two hits apiece.
Ironically, all four of the game's extra base hits were from the Blue team. Hunter Williams had a pair of doubles while Logan Warmoth and Wood Myers each had a double.
Hansen Butler got the start for Blue with Jackson Bellenkes and Jack Geraghty coming on in relief.
The Heels next FWS game will be a closed affair at the DBAP on Friday night.
