Tar Heels Remain No. 6 In AP Poll

Tar Heel AP Poll Notes
• North Carolina is ranked No. 6 in this week's Associated Press top 25 poll, staying in the same spot as last week's preseason poll.
•The Tar Heels began the 2014-15 season ranked sixth in the preseason. UNC started the season in the top 10 for the ninth time in 12 seasons under head coach Roy Williams.
• Carolina is ranked in the AP poll for the sixth week in a row. UNC was ranked in the final four polls of last season, finishing the year at No. 19 (the final AP poll is released prior to the NCAA Tournament each season).
Coming Up…
• The field for next week's Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas is loaded, with No. 3 Wisconsin, No. 6 Carolina, No. 8 Florida and No. 18 Oklahoma.
• The week after the Battle 4 Atlantis, the Tar Heels will host Iowa, which received 48 votes this week after getting 58 votes in the preseason poll. Iowa's 48 votes this week would put it in the 28th spot in the poll.
• Other 2014-15 Tar Heel opponents coming up soon on the schedule include No. 1 Kentucky (Dec. 13 in Lexington) and No. 20 Ohio State (in Chicago).
ACC Teams in the Poll
• There are five Atlantic Coast Conference teams ranked in this week's AP poll, including No. 4 Duke, No. 6 Carolina, No. 7 Louisville, No. 9 Virginia and No. 23 Syracuse.

• Carolina has been ranked in 822 AP polls, more than any school in the nation.
• The Tar Heels have been ranked in the AP Top 10 625 times, most in ACC history and second-most all-time behind Kentucky (635).
• Carolina has been ranked No. 6 in 52 polls in its history.
• The Tar Heels have achieved a Top 10 ranking in the AP poll in 52 of the poll's 66 seasons, including 46 of the last 49. Carolina has finished in the AP Top 10 34 times, including 23 of the last 34.
