Final Exhibition Tune-Up Friday

CHAPEL HILL—With just a week to go until next week's regular season opener, the 2014-15 North Carolina men's basketball team will play its final exhibition tune-up of the preseason on Friday when it hosts Belmont Abbey at 7:30 p.m. in the Smith Center.
The game won't be televised but will be available on radio via the Tar Heel Sports Network and streamed live, exclusively on GoHeels.com for GoHeels TV subscribers. Jones Angell (play-by-play) and Eric Montross (analyst) will have the call, along with Dave Nathan (host) and Sean May (analyst).
Fans attending the game can take advantage of the Tar Heel Express shuttle buses, which will operate from the Friday Center, University Mall, Jones Ferry Road, Southern Village and downtown Chapel Hill for a $5 round-trip fare.
The Crusaders went 11-16 in 2013-14, finishing seventh in Conference Carolinas. Martin Unger is in his first year as head coach at Belmont Abbey, taking over the program less than a month ago. He is a former assistant to Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton.
Carolina will open the 2014-15 regular season next Friday night against North Carolina Central in the first of two home games that weekend. The Tar Heels also will host Robert Morris on Sunday in a game that's part of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament to be completed in the Bahamas over Thanksgiving week.
UNC will play four consecutive games away from Chapel Hill and six in the next nine outings after the back-to-back home games to start the season next weekend.
