North Carolina remains No. 6 in both major women's basketball top 25 polls this week - the Associated Press and the USA TODAY Coaches' Poll.

The 8-0 Tar Heels added to their unbeaten record with a 96-93 double overtime victory on Thursday at then No. 18 Rutgers in the only game played last week with exams beginning the following day.

UNC owns four wins this season over teams ranked at the time of the game - UCLA, Oklahoma State, Stanford and the Scarlet Knights.

No other team has more than two wins over top-25 ranked teams so far this season.

Upon completion of fall semester exams, Carolina gets back to action this Sunday against Appalachian State at 2 p.m. at Carmichael Arena.

Sunday begins a stretch of four games in a seven-day span that also includes Tuesday against No. 15 Oregon State at Carmichael at 6 p.m., and two games in Myrtle Beach next week: Friday against Maine and Sunday versus Elon at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
