Box Score of the Week
In the Los Angeles Lakers' final game before the all-star break, Kendall Marshall had one of the best games of his career in a narrow loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Marshall nearly had a triple double as he scored 14 points, piled up 17 assists and grabbed seven rebounds. One of those 17 assists was this slick bounce pass between a pair of Thunder defenders.
Marshall has been outstanding this season for the Lakers and seemingly has a double-double every game. Check this article out for a more in-depth breakdown of his assist numbers.
Barnes Wraps up Busy All-Star Weekend
Golden State Warriors forward Harrison Barnes competed in both the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge and the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest during the NBA All-Star Weekend. Barnes, who was named a starter in the Rising Stars Challenge scored 16 points and recorded three rebounds. But in the Slam Dunk Contest, Barnes and the other players from the Western Conference fell to the Eastern Conference. You can check out Barnes going head-to-head with Paul George of the Indiana Pacers here.
With the all-star weekend out of the way, Barnes is ready to go on a tear in the second half of the season now that he is more comfortable in his role as the Warrior's sixth man.
Carolina-Duke Rivalry in the NBA
The NBA is full of players from UNC and Duke, and each one of them still has a burning passion for the rivalry. Check out this article from Grantland that features former Tar Heels Reggie Bullock, Kendall Marshall and Antawn Jamison, and former Blue Devil Ryan Kelly as they talk about the rivalry as teammates.
