February 5, 2014 | Baseball
DURHAM, N.C. --- North Carolina sophomore outfielder Skye Bolt was named to the Baseball America Preseason All-America Second Team, the organization announced recently. Bolt was one of 10 Atlantic Coast Conference players named to one of the three squads.
A consensus freshman All-America selection (Baseball America, Perfect Game, NCBWA and Louisville Slugger) in 2013, Bolt hit .321 with six homers and 51 RBIs in 54 games. In addition to his success at the plate and on the bases (10 steals), Bolt played exception defense in right field, committing just two errors in 136 chances as a freshman. The Woodstock, Ga., product also earned second-team All-ACC honors in his first season in Chapel Hill.
Bolt and the Tar Heels open the 2014 season on Feb. 14 with a three-game set against the College of Charleston at Boshamer Stadium. Season tickets, mini-plans and individual game tickets are on sale now at GoHeels.com.
