Brandan Wright has the hot hand
Brandan Wright has averaged 18.2 minutes a game so far this season with the Dallas Mavericks, but if he continues playing as efficiently on the offensive end as he has been over the first few weeks of March he might need to see a few more minutes on the floor. Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News wrote a short article here examining Wright's role on the team.
Vince Carter moves up in record books
As Vince Carter has moved up in age he continues to move up in the record books, as he passed Rashard Lewis to move into seventh place for most three pointers made all-time in the NBA. Carter passed Lewis last Wednesday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves when he went 3-for-4 from downtown. Next up on the list is Chauncey Billups, who currently has 48 more three-pointers than Carter.
Tyler Zeller has career night
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been a disappointing team so far this season, but Tyler Zeller has at least made the most of it and shown some improvement as he's gotten more playing time for the Cavs. On Saturday night he posted a career-high 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field while also adding six rebounds. Zeller effectively took advantage of the absence of the Rockets' Dwight Howard, who missed the game due to injury. Zeller will face one of his college teammates in Tyler Hansbrough Tuesday night when the Toronto Raptors visit the Cavaliers.
Games to watch
Tuesday night has a loaded slate of former Tar Heels playing on TNT. The first game of the nationally televised doubleheader features the Oklahoma City Thunder traveling to Dallas to take on the Mavericks. Dallas is clinging to the final playoff spot in the Western Conference by a half of a game so each game is critical for them with about three weeks left in the regular season. They'll toss it up at the American Airlines Center at 8 p.m. ET.
The second game of the doubleheader will have Raymond Felton and Kendall Marshall square off as the New York Knicks head west to play the Los Angeles Lakers. While L.A. is completely out of the playoff picture, the Knicks are three games back of the Atlanta Hawks and could find themselves in the Eastern Conference playoffs if they play well down the stretch. Tip off is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET.
