North Carolina produced more shots than its opponent for the fourth time in four games. Sunday night saw the Tar Heels own a 10-8 shot advantage over the home-standing Rams.
Tar Heel keeper Brendan Moore made two saves to notch his second clean sheet of the weekend, and 12th of his career.
Garrett Cyprus made three saves in a losing effort for the Rams, who dropped to 2-2 on the year.
Carolina returns home for its Atlantic Coast Conference opener Friday against Pitt from Fetzer Field at 7 p.m., on ESPN3.
