The Tar Heels (15-2, 2-1 ACC) have already defeated the only other two active women's basketball coaches with 900 wins this season - C. Vivian Stringer of Rutgers and Tara VanDerveer of Stanford.
Hatchell, in her 29th season at Carolina and 40th overall, is the only coach in history to lead teams to a national championship at the AIAW, NAIA and NCAA levels. Those titles - the first two coming at Francis Marion and the latter in 1994 with the Tar Heels - are the crown jewels in one of the most decorated coaching careers in women's basketball history.
The Sylvia Hatchell Radio Show is Live tonight at 7 p.m. from Tyler's Taproom in Carrboro, and streamed on Chapelboro.com.
No. 12 UNC hosts seventh-ranked Notre Dame on Thursday at 7 p.m.
