Tar Heels Scrimmage On Sunday

Chapel Hill, N.C. -- The Navy squad took a 3-0 lead in the third inning and never trailed as they held on for a 5-4 win on a beautiful day for baseball at Boshamer Stadium.
Preston Hudak drove in Logan Warmoth for the first run of the game in the third. Joe Dudek then drove in Hudak with a single to right to make it 2-0, then Josh Merrigan's sacrifice fly to center made it 3-0 Navy after three.
Blue scored their first run in the fifth when Wood Myers' single drove in Brooks Kennedy. Tyler Ramirez slammed a solo home run in the sixth to pull Blue to within 3-2. The homer was Ramirez's second in two days.
Navy scored two more runs in the top of the eighth to go up 5-2. Michael Massardo's single drove in Josh Merrigan, then Brian Miller's single scored Massardo.
Blue rallied for two runs in the bottom of the frame on a two-RBI single to left by Ryder Ryan for the final 5-4 score.
Brett Daniels and JB Bukauskas were the two starters. Nick Raquet, A.J. Bogucki, Chris McCue, Spencer Trayner, Trevor Kelley and Reilly Hovis all threw in relief.
Carolina will hold its next closed scrimmage on either Monday or Tuesday, depending on the weather.
