Hall of Fame head coach Sylvia Hatchell, with more than 900 career victories, is in her 43rd year on the sidelines. All but two of those seasons have been as a collegiate head coach where she has amassed the second most wins in the history of the sport. Hatchell is the first and only coach to lead teams to national championships at the AIAW, NAIA and NCAA levels. Those titles - the first two coming at Francis Marion and the 1994 NCAA title at Carolina - are the crown jewels in one of the most decorated coaching careers in women's basketball history. She was chased for induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013.
