Tar Heels Drop In Coaches Poll

Tar Heel Poll Notes
• Ranked No. 7 last week, North Carolina dropped a spot in one of the national polls this week (released on Dec. 28). The Tar Heels remained at No. 7 in the Associated Press poll while falling a spot to No. 8 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. UNC went 1-0 last week with a win over Appalachian State.
• UNC has been in the top 10 of both polls for seven of eight weeks during the 2015-16 season, falling to No. 11 for a week after its loss at Texas on Dec. 12.
• The Tar Heels began the 2015-16 season atop both polls, holding the AP's top spot outright and sharing the No. 1 ranking in the coaches poll with Kentucky. UNC started the season in the AP top 10 for the 10th time in 13 seasons under head coach Roy Williams.
• Carolina is ranked in the AP poll for the 31st week in a row.
Coming Up...
• This week, the Tar Heels will host UNCG on Monday, Clemson on Wednesday and Georgia Tech on Saturday.
ACC Teams in the Poll
• There are five Atlantic Coast Conference teams ranked in this week's AP poll, including No. 5 Virginia, No. 7 Carolina, No. 13 Miami, No. 15 Duke and No. 18 Louisville.

• Carolina has been ranked in 847 AP polls, more than any school in the nation.
• The Tar Heels have been ranked in the AP Top 10 633 times, most in ACC history and second-most all-time behind Kentucky.
• The Tar Heels have achieved a Top 10 ranking in the AP poll in 53 of the poll's 67 seasons, including 47 of the last 50. Carolina has finished in the AP Top 10 34 times, including 23 of the last 35 years.
