UNC Hosts GT For Final Home ACC Series Of 2015

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Tar Heels will host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets this weekend for their final ACC series at home in Anderson Stadium. First pitch on Saturday is set for noon and 2 p.m. and 1 p.m. for Sunday.
The bats have been on fire all season for Carolina. As a team, Coach Donna J. Papa's squad lead the ACC in batting average at .338 as well as home runs with 69 while ranking 16th and fifth nationally.
Kristen Brown is fourth in the country for long balls with 17. Amber Parrish is behind her with 14, stitting 21st in the nation. Brown is seventh in Division I softball with 55 runs batted in, needing one more to break the UNC record for RBIs in a single season.
Before the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, Carolina Softball will honor the five members of the 2015 senior class: Kati Causey, Jenna Kelly, Amber Parrish, Jordan Scarboro, and Lauren Walker.
Scouting the Yellow Jackets
GT sports a record of 14-25. Against conference opponents, the Yellow Jackets are 5-10 in 2015, taking a game from both Pittsburgh and NC State and sweeping Virginia.
Courtney Ziese is the powerful bat in the Georgia Tech lineup, with a team leading seven home runs, 26 RBIs, and a .545 slugging percentage.
Kylie Kleinschmidt is the most used pitcher on staff, starting 24 of her 27 appearances. She has an ERA of 4.12 and has struck out 140 batters.
North Carolina and GT have split the previous 68 meetings between the two programs. In 2014 Georgia Tech took the first two games of the series before the Tar Heels won the finale 15-6.
