Tar Heels Release 2015-16 Roster

CHAPEL HILL—Summer school is winding down in Chapel Hill, but before the men's basketball team heads home for a few weeks to rest up for the fall semester, the Tar Heels have released their official 2015-16 roster.
The Tar Heels will return four starters this season in senior guard Marcus Paige (6-1, 175 pounds), senior forward Brice Johnson (6-9, 228), junior forward Kennedy Meeks (6-9, 265) and sophomore wing Justin Jackson (6-8, 193). Rising senior wing J.P. Tokoto declared for the NBA Draft and went in the second round to the Philadelphia 76ers in late June.
Carolina returns over 88 percent of its points (including its top four scorers), nearly 84 percent of its rebounds and nearly 75 percent of its assists from the 2014-15 season.

A total of 12 lettermen return, including three scholarship seniors in Paige, Johnson and forward Joel James (6-10, 280), as well as four juniors in Meeks, guard Nate Britt (6-1, 170), forward Isaiah Hicks (6-8, 230) and guard Stilman White (6-0, 170). Also back are sophomores Jackson, guard Joel Berry II (6-0, 195) and wing Theo Pinson (6-6, 195).
Incoming freshmen Luke Maye (6-7, 227) and Kenny Williams (6-3, 166) have been on campus for several weeks for the second session of summer school.
Rounding out the roster are returning walk-on seniors Justin Coleman (6-2, 180) and Spenser Dalton (6-3, 205).
New Jersey Numbers
• Hicks, who wore jersey number 22 for his first two seasons, will wear number 4 in 2015-16.
• White, who wore number 11 as a freshman and number 45 in 2014-15 after returning from his two-year Mormon mission, will wear number 30 as a junior in 2015-16.
• As for the freshmen, Maye will wear jersey number 32 and Williams will wear number 24.
