Blue-White Scrimmage Set For Aug. 21
August 10, 2015 | Volleyball
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina will host a Blue-White scrimmage on Friday, Aug. 21, at 6 p.m. in Carmichael Arena. The scrimmage will allow fans the opportunity to get a first-hand glimpse of the defending ACC Champions before they head west for the first matches of the regular season at USC.
The Blue-White scrimmage begins what may be one of the best and most challenging preseason schedules in the nation. In addition to the Italian Junior National team on Sept. 7, Carolina will face NCAA finalist BYU, NCAA semifinalist Stanford, Big Ten contenders Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and Michigan State and perrenial powerhouse USC all in the weeks leading up to Atlantic Coast Conference play.
Last season, Carolina finished 29-3 overall and 17-1 in conference play and posted a 20-game win streak during ACC and NCAA play. The Tar Heels were defeated by national semifinalist Texas in the regional final round of the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship.
All home matches, including the Blue-White match, are played in Carmichael Arena and admission is free. For the full 2015 schedule, please click here.
