UNC Tops Winthrop In Exhibition

CHAPEL HILL - Andy Lopez scored once and assisted on another goal in helping No. 5 North Carolina to a 4-1 victory over Winthrop in an exhibition men's soccer match Friday night from Fetzer Field.
Carolina took a 1-0 lead into intermission thanks to an own goal by the Eagles in the early portion of the opening half.
Winthrop evened the match in the 60th minute, but Lopez got the game winner a few minutes later off a feed from Tucker Hume.
Freshman Alex Moztarzadeh added to the Tar Heel scoring total with a goal in the 74th minute, and classmate Dominic Jensen added a beautiful goal with a rocket into the upper-right corner in the 86th minute.
UNC will host a Blue/White Scrimmage on Sunday at 11 p.m. as part of the 2015 FallFest.
