VENICE, Fla. – Maia Schechter shot a 68 in the opening round of the LPGA Stage II Qualifying School on Thursday. Her 68 tied for the second lowest score in the round.

Katherine Perry shot an even par 72 while current senior Leslie Cloots shot 74. Catherine O'Donnell posted a 76 in the first round. The Tar Heels will need to finish in the top 80 after four rounds to move on to Stage III.
