Three Compete In Stage III LPGA Qualifying School

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Three former Tar Heels began competition yesterday in the final stage of the LPGA Q-School. The tournament is taking place at the LPGA International's Jones and Hills courses.
Katherine Perry, Tar Heel from 2010-2014, was the top performing former team member as she shot a 2-over par playing the Jones Course and is tied for 72nd. Casey Grice, Tar Heel from 2010-2013, played the Hills Course at 4-over par and is tied for 111th. Maia Schechter, Tar Heel from 2011-2015, played the Jones Course in 5-over par and is tied for 126th.
In the first round, the Hills Course played to an average of 3.07-over par and the Jones Course played to an average of 0.62-over par.
The tournament is a five-day tournament where there are 20 full LPGA cards and 25 partial cards at stake. There will be a cut to 70 players after the fourth round and all players who play 72 holes will receive Symetra tour status.
